As a Japanese citizen, I would like to express my opinion on the issue of 『Ghost of Tsushima』I do not consider this game to be cultural theft.
Cultural plagiarism is the act of coercion against another person or the original culture by claiming without respect or warning that “this form we present is true and correct”.
The act of creating entertainment or fantasy based on another culture or civilization is, to me, distinctly different from cultural theft, as long as it does not explicitly disparage or discriminate against another culture.
『ゴースト・オブ・ツシマ』の問題について、日本の人間として意見を述べさせていただきます。私はこのゲームを文化盗用とは考えておりません。
文化盗用とは、「私たちが提示しているこの形式は真実であり、これこそが正しい」と、敬意も何もなく思い込みのみで主張し、他人や元の文化にその主張を強要する行為です。
他の文化や文明に基づいて娯楽やファンタジーを創作する行為は、明白にその文化を蔑ろにしたり、差別する意図がない限り、私にとっては文化盗用とは明確に異なるものである、と判断いたします。
